Treatments of Traumatic Injuries Most of these cases are a result of childhood injury. A blow to the face may cause the tooth to be completely dislocated, stop the growth of the tooth, or cause the tooth to become discolored and infected. Following the injury children should be evaluated for potential damage to their teeth and bone. A completely dislocated tooth should be placed in the socket or in milk and the child should be seen by an Endodontist or dentist ASAP. The sooner the tooth is placed in the socket the better the chance of holding on to the tooth for life. |
